Dr. Zachary Homer, chiropractor in Gilbert AZ
Dr. Zak, founder of Targeted Chiropractic

Dr. Zachary “Zak” Homer, DC is the founder and lead chiropractor at Targeted Chiropractic, a locally owned clinic in Gilbert, Arizona focused on personalized, hands-on care. Since founding the practice in early 2022, Dr. Zak has helped hundreds of patients find lasting relief through a holistic, customized approach to pain management and spinal health.

His treatment philosophy is simple: effective chiropractic care should combine gentle adjustments with targeted soft tissue work like myofascial release. This combination not only helps reduce pain in the short term—it also helps preserve the correction, restore normal movement, and prevent the same issue from returning. For Dr. Zak, the key to long-term relief is addressing both the spine and the muscles that support it.

At Targeted Chiropractic, patients benefit from a full range of services, including spinal and extremity adjustments, E-Stim (electrical muscle stimulation), therapeutic ultrasound, and myofascial release therapy. Dr. Zak is especially known for treating neck pain, lower back pain, upper back tightness, knee issues, and chronic discomfort related to posture, injuries, or repetitive stress.

What truly sets Dr. Zak apart is his personal experience with chronic pain. After being involved in seven car accidents—beginning with one at the age of 10—he spent years struggling with unresolved pain and frustration. Like many of the patients he now helps, he was repeatedly told “nothing’s wrong” despite his symptoms. That frustration ultimately led him to chiropractic.

During a family reunion, two of his uncles (both chiropractors themselves) challenged him to take one college anatomy class. They knew his story and suspected that if he could understand how the body worked, he might not only find relief—but find purpose. Dr. Zak took them up on the offer, and everything changed. He discovered a passion for learning about the body, and more importantly, he realized he wanted to help people who had been dismissed or overlooked like he had.

In 2013, Dr. Zak was accepted to Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa—one of the most respected chiropractic schools in the world. After three rigorous years of education, he graduated with a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC).

After graduation, he joined Laser Tech, a chronic pain clinic where he focused on helping patients with long-term pain. This experience shaped his belief in proactive, preventive care. He began exploring various soft tissue techniques, studying biomechanics, and paying attention to what actually worked for his own body and his patients. Over time, he refined an approach that blended chiropractic care with effective muscle work.

From 2019 to 2022, Dr. Zak worked at The Joint Chiropractic in Chandler, where he focused primarily on spinal adjustments. This experience allowed him to fine-tune his adjustment techniques at a high volume. During his tenure, the clinic won the Best of Chandler award from the East Valley Tribune, with Dr. Zak serving as the clinic’s primary DC.

By 2021, Dr. Zak was ready to bring his own vision to life—and so he opened Targeted Chiropractic. His goal? To offer high-quality, focused care in a calm, one-on-one setting where patients feel heard and empowered.

“Chronic pain is a roller coaster. Some days feel great, some days you’re stuck. I’ve lived that. If someone comes into my office and says they’re in pain, I believe them—and I work hard to figure out why.”

Outside the office, Dr. Zak enjoys golf, camping, and the occasional fishing trip. Born in Yakima, Washington and raised in Gilbert, he’s proud to serve the community he grew up in.
